Friday Finds: Never Slow Dance With A Zombie

FRIDAY FINDS is a weekly meme hosted over at Should Be Reading.  It showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (They aren’t necessarily books you purchased).

Never Slow Dance With A Zombie by E. Van Lowe

Book Description (via Amazon):  On the night of her middle school graduation, Margot Jean Johnson wrote a high school manifesto detailing her goals for what she was sure would be a most excellent high school career. She and her best friend, Sybil, would be popular and, most important, have boyfriends. Three years later, they haven’t accomplished a thing!

Then Margot and Sybil arrive at school one day to find that most of the student body has been turned into flesh-eating zombies. When kooky Principal Taft asks the girls to coexist with the zombies until the end of the semester, they realize that this is the perfect opportunity to live out their high school dreams. All they have to do is stay alive….

Yesterday was a particularly stressful day at work and a bit at home because of plenty of errands.  So what a better way to de-stress than swinging by Booksale before going home! I saw this book for 50 pesos and had to buy it. Come on, it has zombies! Actually, upon reading the back cover, I knew it’s something I wouldn’t buy in the midst of a sea of choices at the store. It’s like Mean Girls with a dash of zombies. It felt pretty lame at first. Until I started reading it and I found myself amused.

I haven’t finished it and frankly, the protagonists are still typical brats with a pinch of annoying but somehow I see it getting funnier. Sure, it won’t be woah-great, and in fact, I know it will be all kinds of ridiculous but it’s part of the fun of the book.

I hope to finish it tonight, to cap my work week. I consider it a good purchase.

So, what did you find this week?
