Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits & tea and it aims to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week.
Nothing tells me I’m so lax in updating my blog than a Showcase Sunday post succeeding another Showcase Sunday entry! As usual, my lame excuse has always been work, so I’m not gonna go there. But I’m happy that even if time flew by so fast, I managed to snag good reading finds. Here’s what I “rewarded” myself with the past week:
Eleven on Top, Night Train to Lisbon, The Midnight Palace, and Cleopatra: A Life were from the online shop of my friend Celina. She has great stuff every month for very reasonable prices. What made it more awesome for me is that since we see each other on several occasions, I get to save from the shipping fee and she throws in some more discounts for friends. Yay! 🙂 The books I bought from her cost me P600 (+/- $14).
Three Stations and The Sorrows of an American were from my “cheap payday buys” — yeah, I just keep on inventing reasons to buy books as I go along, LOL — and for P60 each ($1.25), good as new condition, they’re definitely a steal. 🙂
Eleven on Top (Stephanie Plum #11), The Midnight Palace (Niebla #2), and Three Stations (Arkady Renko #7) are books to add to serials I collect; the rest are titles I’ve been wanting to buy.
How about you, what books did you get this week?
